Bowdon Firs, consisting of John Wilkinson (captain), Frank Moir, Sylvia Steer, and Lorna Frost went to Nottingham to play Colchester in the Secretary's Shield quarter-final on Tuesday 1st July and came away with a 3-2 win. They will now meet the winners of the Shrewsbury/Southport  match in the semi-final in August.
