REPORT FROM ALL-ENGLAND HANDICAP FINALS - by

Sylvia and I didn't do too badly, each winning
3 out of the 6 games played over the weekend(13/08/03 and 14/08/03).
I averaged 22 hoops per game for the first five games and still only won
three of them, losing the first game whilst on peg and rover! The
weather was beautiful and the lawns very fast. The Omega adjustable
hoops made hoop running possible from quite angled positions (hence the
high scores). The eventual winner was Farouk Malik (8 handicap)
A very pleasant tournament ably managed by Ron Selmes. Watch
out for a very young player from Colchester, Jack Wicks, currently on handicap
3 who shows great promise. (well he beat me, so he's got to be good!)
