This was
the 4th time that
Colin has dominated the Germans, winning three out of five games with a
TP. Colin and Chris were happy to take home the trophy
- a carving of Croquet player in action - back to "its"
place at their house. In the final Colin beat Martin
Murray +25tp. Martin was not too unhappy to be the
runner-up, though, since it was his best ever result in the German
Open.
Both of
the finalists
have taken part in every single German Open, a tournament
played every two years, since 1999. Third and fourth places were
taken by Bruno Hess and Alexander Kirsten, both of them happy with
their success.With
the prize giving
on Sunday a remarkable tournament ended: the sun shone over Saturday's
games and allowed dining on the terrace of Hotel Süllberg
high up over the banks of the River Elbe. Food and wines
were delicious and maybe because of this beautiful evening
everybody was shocked about Sunday morning's rain which poured out of a
grey sky and soon all wet weather gear was
soaked. Nevertheless the games went on and and after lunch
the sun shone again for the final stage of the tournament.
