NORTH-WEST FEDERATION MIDWEEK LEAGUE
The Bowdon Griffins team played away on Monday, 25 September 2006, at Pendle & Craven in a re-arranged game.

Monday, 25 September - Pendle & Craven 2 - 4 Bowdon Griffins

Captain John Saxby and his team came away from Pendle with a good win from the last game of the season that puts them top of the table, awaiting other results.

Debutant Carol Steinberg earned a point for the team partnering Rupert in the doubles while John & Jenny also got a win. Victories by Jenny & Rupert in the singles ensured that Bowdon will have a share of the title if Chester only manage a draw at home to Bury in their last game.

Bowdon Griffins finish 2nd in NW Federation Midweek League

Captain John Saxby and his team did not get the result that they would have liked from the Chester v. Bury game. Chester ran out winners by six games to nil and claimed the league title.

However, it was a good year for the team, bringing on new club members into the world of competitive league croquet.
