ALL ENGLAND HANDICAP AREA FINAL, 2-3 SEPTEMBER
Five
Bowdon members went to Pendle over the weekend to play in the All England
Area Final. The weather on Saturday was atrocious and the lawns became flooded
after only one round of matches causing play to be suspended for the day.
On Sunday, each person played four 14 pt. games and Jenny Dennis and David
Cotton came equal 3rd of 12 entrants with 3 wins out of 5. Janet Guthrie,
Janice Moir & Abdul Ahmad also represented the club in a thoroughly enjoyable
competition, won by Leonard Ainsworth of Fylde Croquet Club who now goes
on to the National Final.
