JENNY WILLIAMS WINS AT CHELTENHAM Jenny Williams, Chris Clarke, Ian Lines and Brian Storey played in the Cheltenham May Weekend (14/05/05 & 15/05/05). It was played as an Egyptian with two blocks separated on handicap. In the top block Jenny and Chris both ended up on 6/7 wins and with the same Egyptian rating, with Jenny winning on who beat whom!! Chris was second, and Ian had 6/9 wins in his matches. Chris won the peeling prize, with 6 triples in his 6 wins. Ian was second in the peeling competition, with 3 TPs, one TPO, and an OTP (against Jenny). More notably, he did all 6 peels of an SXPO against Brian Storey. Unfortunately he clipped the peelee when trying to jump it while making rover and failed to peg it out. He then went on to lose the game after trying even more peels on Brian's other ball. Brian also had a really good tournament, with 5/8 wins, and showed a great return of form in time for the counties championships at the end of the month. |
