There are 68 club members and friends going to the Dinner & Dance on Friday. The club house will be open from 6pm for those wishing to get a pre-dinner drink and a raffle will also take place, so donations of prizes would be very much appreciated, please.

For those going straight there, the dinner is to be held at the Bowdon Rooms and everyone needs to be seated by 8pm; dress is smart/casual.

CANASTA & BRIDGE CHANGES
Canasta and Bridge players should note that there will be a 30p entry fee per session from now onwards. This is to cover the cost of tea/coffee as well as heating, lighting and dishwashing. Anyone paying 50p for the Wednesday Competition in the morning need not pay to play Canasta afterwards.
Please note that there will be no Canasta on Tuesday, 2nd December, as a new gas fire is to be fitted in the main room to replace the now obsolete wall heater.
94th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
11am on Saturday, 22nd November

There was a good turnout of 52 club members for the Annual General Meeting. The President's Remarks were read out by the Club Secretary as he was unable to attend. The Treasurer confirmed that the club was in a healthy position and that club subscriptions would not rise. The club officers were re-elected en masse to continue and Carole Kelsall was elected as a new member of the committee. Club trophies were then presented to this year's winners.
Find out the full details with photos of the presentation of trophies plus the President's Remarks by clicking here.

YOUTH CLUB

The pool table is now back in the club house and the Youth Club meets every Friday evening at 8pm.
Please come along to meet your friends from the club and have a game or just a chat over a drink!

CANASTA

Canasta has restarted in the Clubhouse every Tuesday and Wednesday:
Tuesday - come about 12 with your lunch & the Canasta starting about 1pm.
Wednesday - Canasta will start after the One-Ball has finished.

If you don't know how to play but would like to learn, please come along either day; those there will be very willing to give you instruction.
BRIDGE

Bridge will be played on Monday evenings at 7pm.
All are welcome.

Bowdon is known for the quality of its lawns. To keep the standard high it is essential that EVERYBODY adheres to the Lawn Rota, the intention of which is to even out the usage of the lawns. Details can be found on the notice board by the front door.
Welcome to Bowdon Croquet Club 2014...

...where croquet is played on most days of the year.

We are a thriving active club and welcome new members (see New Members section for an application form or just come and visit).

The club has room for four superb full size lawns maintained to a high standard providing first class playing facilities to all members.

A six-week beginners' coaching course is  held every summer from May into June, at a cost of around £35.
Bowdon members who joined during the last year can also attend, if they so desire, free of charge.
To book, or for more details, please contact Charles on 0161 980 6419. Coaching is also available free on a one-to-one basis at all times.

The 2014 croquet season runs from March until October when three full size lawns and two short lawns are laid out.
Limited play is permitted during the winter months.

Bowdon hosts several Croquet Association tournaments each year.
In 2014 these were:

The May Handicap Weekend
The June Advanced Weekend
The Northern Week (July)
The North of England Championship (August)
The President's Cup (September)

The September 'B' level Tournament

Spectators are welcome at all these events.

The club was founded in 1873 and has been located on the present site since 1911.
