THE WHITEHEAD PARK ASSOCIATION CROQUET HANDICAP TOURNAMENT

The inaugural Whitehead Park Association Croquet Handicap Tournament (previously at Heaton Park) is scheduled for next weekend 8th/9th August. At present Bury have 5 entries so they would like some more players. Click here for more details.

The Whitehead Park lawns are playing well and the food and hospitality are guaranteed! Don't worry if you have a high handicap as it is a great way to learn tactics and since it's a full CA event - merit badges could be earned.

If anyone would like to enter then please contact Paul Rigge by email (paul.rigge@tiscali.co.uk) or telephone (07947333236), pay at the door next Saturday.....
BCC PROCEDURES  102 POLICY DECISIONS

The above is a document to be found in the Members' Area about policy decisions made by the committee on behalf of the club and its members, relating to the smooth running of the club, accreditations and requirements.

This procedure lists all such decisions that have been identified as "Policy", taken over time and the date of such decision, to act as an "aide memoir".

PLANS FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE JUBILEE ROOMS

Trafford MBC have revived their plans for building on the current car park to finance the re-building of the Jubilee Rooms. The latest plans of what is intended to be done can be found on the notice board in the club house, although they do not appear to be any different to those originally submitted, which we and the local Bowdon Conservation Group vehemently objected to.

The provisional return date for comments is 7th August so the Honorary Secretary will respond on the club's behalf to object to the curtailment and reduction of car parking spaces.

Welcome to Bowdon Croquet Club 2015...

...where croquet is played on most days of the year.

We are a thriving active club and welcome new members (see New Members section for an application form or just come and visit).

The club has room for four superb full size lawns maintained to a high standard providing first class playing facilities to all members.

A six-week beginners' coaching course is  held every summer from May into June, at a cost of around 35.
Bowdon members who joined during the last year can also attend, if they so desire, free of charge.
To book, or for more details, please contact Charles on 0161 980 6419. Coaching is also available free on a one-to-one basis at all times.

The 2015 croquet season runs from March until October when three full size lawns and two short lawns are laid out.
Limited play is permitted during the winter months.

Bowdon hosts several Croquet Association tournaments each year.
In 2015 these are:

The May Handicap Weekend
The June Advanced Weekend
The Northern Week (July)
The North of England Championship (August)
The September 'B' Level Tournament

Spectators are welcome at all these events.

The club was founded in 1873 and has been located on the present site since 1911.
The club is affiliated to the Croquet Association and the North-West of England Federation.
